Douliu Hash #23 – The SECOND ANNIVERSARY run, started off very well in the mountains on a very hot day. Three hares – DDT, Paddy McGroin, and SGT, set off a short 6k trail that wound its way through the mountains full of checks and backtracks.

Unfortunately, the heat of the day was soon taken over an epic torrential downpour which washed away the hash marks and stranded about 10 hashers in the mountains. DDT braved the cold and wet to run back up and rescue them.
After all the hashers had reached the safety of a too-small pagoda, we crowded together, somewhat out of the rain and wind and cold, and enjoyed some Champagne and OJ to celebrate 2 years of hashing in Douliu. Eventually, after everyone got tired of DDT saying “Just 10 more minutes, then it’ll let up…”, we opted to move directly to the restaurant. Much fuss was made of getting things packed up the rain. Crampee Buxibum’s van get stuck in the flooded gravel and had to be pushed out. All in all, a very fun, but very wet day.

At the restaurant, we crowded under umbrellas and went through down downs. Third timer Li was given the name Cockpox for her recent battle with Chicken pox. Third timer Jay was given the hash name Foghorn, for her extremely loud voice which always lets us know where she’s at.
-GENERAL PENALTIES-
Several hashers shared a down down for falling down on trail, which prompted DDT to “fall down” so that he could enjoy another drink.
Schnitzel Swallower was given her 10-run patch and SGT received his 20-run patch. On on to 20 and 30 runs, respectively!
SGT and 1st timer Kaley shared a drink from being from the same small state (South Dakota) and meeting in Taiwan.
1st timer Amelia was given a “Geography down down” for having some great “features.”
1st timer Iain gave hare Paddy McGroin a down down for being the only hare that’s going bald.
Hungary Hungary Hermaphrodite and his friend Carol shared a canoodling down down. It was then announced that HHH had received a name change and from then on would be known as BudaPoess.
Hasher Mexican Dope showed up out of nowhere and also a received a name change to Vagina Eyes. You can ask him the reason why yourself.
After several wet down downs, we enjoyed a wonderful meal and then most hashers headed back to Roxy’s Bar for an on-after
