2011 All Island Run in Hsinchu

The 2011 All Island Run will be held in Hsinchu on June 11. It’s a huge event (a Hash Bash with 300-500 hashers from all over Taiwan) and a great experience.

Here’s what I know:

  • The run is A to B
  • Hares are off at 1:30
  • you may take your pick between short (6km), medium (8km) and long (??) trails depending on how you feel
  • Hares: Buzzard Eagle, Three Dogs Fucking, and Yang Tze River
  • Cost is 900 NT (not including transportation). It cost more this year, but we will have a stage with live music and shuttle service to the buses. The bands and party will go to 11PM, but each hash can leave when they want. We will put out beer until it lasts (hopefully to 11:00 PM). If it runs out, people can buy beer at the finish.
  • There will be a pool and spa at the finish (they close at 6 p.m.)
  • There will be a bonfire
  • Down Downs are 4:30 to 6:00
  • Dinner 6:00 PM
  • Camping at the finish is encouraged. Group Rooms and cabins (4 people) are available for rent – let me know if anyone is interested
  • There are no personal cars allowed (possible exceptions for small hashes like us)
  • Traveling there will probably best be done by train/HSR. I’ll have more information about the start and finish later, but the start should be a short taxi ride from the Hsinchu HSR station. If you want, there are also 4-person cabins for rent at the finish, so you can spend the night. Camping out at the finish is also an option, as is getting a hotel in Hsinchu or getting a late train back. One this is for sure – this will be a huge event but everyone will leave satisfied.

If anyone is interested, please let me know ASAP. I’d like to get a rough idea of who is interested in going up. Leave a comment here or let me (Ryan/SGT) or Glenn (DDT) know. The sign-up deadline for getting a t-shirt is May 23rd. Anyone signing up after that may not get a t-shirt. The final sign-up due date is June 3rd.

    On on!
